Content Policy
All user-generated content on Regimental Memory Core (unit names, descriptions, timelines, uploaded images) must comply with the following policy:
Prohibited Content
- No offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content— racism, sexism, hate speech, explicit sexual content, graphic violence beyond BattleTech's military context, or content promoting real-world harm
- No real-world political content — units and narratives should be set in the BattleTech universe
- No impersonation— don't claim your unit is an official Catalyst Game Labs product
Creative Freedom
Lore accuracy is NOT required. This is a creative tool, not a canon reference. Players can create whatever stories they want within the BattleTech setting. Non-canonical units, alternate histories, and creative liberties are welcome and encouraged.
Intellectual Property
Respect IP boundaries— don't reproduce copyrighted text from sourcebooks verbatim. Reference and inspiration are fine.
Your Content & Ownership
You own your creative work. The unit names, backstories, timelines, character descriptions, and other original content you create on Regimental Memory Core belong to you. This is your creative writing and worldbuilding within the BattleTech setting.
BattleTech IP context:Your creations exist within the BattleTech universe, whose intellectual property (including 'Mech names, faction names, and setting elements) is owned by The Topps Company, Inc. and Microsoft Corporation. Your original creative contributions (stories, characters, unit histories) are yours, but they incorporate elements of a licensed property.
License to display: By posting content on Regimental Memory Core, you grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute your content on the platform. This allows us to show your units to other users and include them in the public directory.
Public sharing:Content you create is publicly visible by default and may be viewed, linked to, and shared by other members of the community. Only post content you're comfortable sharing publicly.
Enforcement
Content violating this policy may be removed at Admin/Moderator discretion. Repeated violations may result in account restrictions.
Reporting Content
If you encounter content that violates this policy, use the Report button (🚩) on any unit page. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
